Highlights include a newly discovered work by Leonard Tsuguharu Foujita, an impressive Imperial quality Chinese floor screen, Chinese cloisonne, pottery and porcelain from the 12th to 20th centuries, bronzes from India and Southeast Asia, art including works by Pierre-Charles Comte, H. Guerault, Helen Bershad, Americana including furniture and samplers, a collection of KPM and related paintings on porcelain, silver Judaica, and estate silver. A Chinese Hardstone-Mounted Cloisonne Enamel Lidded Vase, c. 1900

 

With a patinated-metal handle with grasshopper termini featuring turquoise eyes.  The body of the bottle-form vase with bird and dragon decoration and mounted with four tiger eye cabochons.  

 

Dimensions: 8 1/2 in. x 8 1/2 in., 18 3/4 in. high

 

Provenance: The Estate of Dr Neuman S Mittel of Boston and Cape Cod Massachusetts.

Condition

Some tarnishing, oxidation and wear to metal mounts.  Other minor scratches, rubbing and wear to enamel decoration.
