A Federal Inlaid Cherrywood Chest of Drawers, Southern, Possibly Tennessee, c. 1800-1820
With two short drawers above three graduated long drawers, all with pressed-brass pulls and inlaid quarter-fans above a shaped apron with tulip inlay, all on bracket feet.
Dimensions: 38 1/2 in. wide, 20 in. deep, 43 in. high
Provenance: From an Ohio collection.
Condition
Poplar secondary wood. Pulls likely original. Patched repair to inlay on case above bottom drawer and on bottom drawer at top. With other patches and repairs to veneers on feet. Minor shrinkage cracks to top and case sides. Grey wash applied to backboards.
