A letter written in the author's hand, undated but possibly related to chapter 9 of Uncle Tom's Cabin. The letter reads, "My "Behold the Pussy" by as near return mail as I can get it. The illustrations for the next one may be a pretty curly headed young girl sitting in a cottage window under an apple tree in blossom. I see my poems advertised for March-yet have had no proofs either of print or illustrations. Pray send some. Yours ever, H.B.S. ".The letter is 7" x 4 1/2", the frame is 12 1/2" x 14 1/2".From a Bucks County collection.
The is somewhat faded, otherwise appears to be in good condition. Not examined out of the frame.
