An American Cherry and Pine School Master's Desk, 19th Century. The slant front hinged lid with molded edge, enclosing an open compartment with pigeon holes, over a single drawer and writing slide, raised on ring turned legs, joined by an H-stretcher.
Dimensions: Height 50in; width 31 1/4in; depth 24 3/4in.
Provenance: Purchased with Ingham Springs Antiques, Inc., New Hope, Pennsylvania, 1998.

Condition
Structurally sound. In an overall refinished condition. The brass hardware is replaced, making the desk appear earlier than it is. The brasses obscuring plugged holes to the drawer front. The hinged top with patches along the back edge where hinges have torn out. The stretchers and feet have undergone restorations, repairs and replacements. General marks, wear, scuffs, surface scratches, small losses and replacements throughout. With key.
