An Anglo-Indian carved rosewood teapoy, mid 19th century, the hinged lid to reveal nine open compartments, raised on bass castersheight 33 1/2in; width 18 1/2in; depth 12 1/4in.From a Bucks County collection.
Retaining an old surface. With age cracks, movement to veneers and small losses. The lid with a large crack to the carved applied element from age shrinkage. Filled in holes to front of teapoy where escutcheon is lacking. No key.
