A Chippendale Style Carved Mahogany and Needlepoint Adjustable Pole Fire Screen, Late 19th Century. Together with a similar framed needlepoint panel.
Dimensions: Height of fire screen 65in; width 21 1/2in; Dimensions of needlepoint panel 17 x 18in.
Condition
The fire screen is structurally sound. Scattered marks, wear, and surface scratches overall. The urn form finial with an old break and glued repair and small losses; dried glue residue is present. The velvet upholstery to reverse of screen with sun fading and small losses throughout. The framed needlepoint panel is in overall good condition; not examined out of the frame.
