Continental School (19th Century), Pair of Full Length Portrait Miniatures of Children. Oil on Canvas, Unsigned. Each depicted wear a white dress and holding flowers. Each in an oval giltwood frame.
Dimensions: Sight 4 3/4 x 3 1/2in; Frame 6 3/8 x 5in.
This lot comes from an Upper West Side, New York City collection that will be featured in a short lecture by noted specialist of portrait miniatures, Elle Shushan. Condition
Not examined under UV light or out of the frames. Craquelure to the canvas overall. Scattered small areas of flaking throughout. The giltwood frames with general marks, wear and rubbing revealing gesso.
