An Eighteen-Inch Terrestrial Floor Globe, Circa 1900. With a large cartouche to the Pacific Ocean. Supported in a graduated brass meridian, with a mahogany horizon band with paper zodiac and calendar. Raised on a well carved Classical Revival mahogany tripod stand with acanthus central support, terminating in paw feet with small casters.
Dimensions: Height 46 1/2in; Diameter 25in.
Condition
The globe is in need of extensive repair and restoration. Heavy loss to surface, age cracks, peels, separation and losses throughout. The mahogany stand is in overall good sturdy condition. The brass meridian with typical marks, wear and toning. The paper zodiac and calendar on the horizon band with losses overall.
