An English Walnut Davenport Desk, Mid 19th Century

Having a fret carved gallery above a hinged writing slope with inset tooled leather writing panel enclosing a mahogany interior fitted with four small drawers, all above a paneled plinth base with pull-out slide to either side, and small inkwell drawer to the side, the cupboard door below enclosing four large drawers, ending in casters. Accompanied by Phelps Ltd receipt from 1980.

Dimensions: Height 35 3/4in; width 21 1/2in; depth 21in.

Provenance: Purchased with Phelps Ltd., Middlesex, England, July 6, 1980.

From a Bucks County, Pennsylvania Collection. 

Condition

Structurally sound. In overall good condition, general marks, wear, nicks, abrasions, surface scratches and small veneer loss to base. The leather writing panel is in good condition. With key.
