Fort Bummer 1950's Pennsylvania Sgraffito Redware, Including the First Piece Produced
By Paul Boehret, comprising: two 10 1/4in plates one with a green and mottled rim and the other inscribed "The first piece made at the Fort Bummer Pottery / January 1955", seven pie plates ranging from 5 3/4 to 7 3/4in, a 4 1/4in tall cup, a 3 1/8in tall mug with the word "Norm." written on the side, three 3 5/8in dishes, a miniature 4 3/4in pitcher dated for 1955, a shell form dish inscribed "FB POTTERY / FIRED 1955", and a 17in tray with decoration of a peacock in a tree.
Condition
One of the plates has a rim chip, the tray has multiple rim chips and minor surface losses. The rest of the lot is in generally good condition with some expected surface wear.
