A Louis XVI Style Porcelain Mounted Gilt Bronze Three Piece Clock Garniture, second half 19th century, comprising a mantel clock and pair of candlesticks, the porcelain dial having Roman numerals, the twin train movement striking on a bell.Height of mantel clock 16 3/4in; width 13in; depth 5 1/2in; height of candlesticks 12in.
The bronze case with wear, toning, darkening and heavy abrasions throughout. The porcelain panels with heavy wear, rubbing and losses to decoration and gilt heightening throughout. The gilt bronze with varying quality of casting throughout. Each of the candlesticks with damage and losses to the porcelain socles beneath the bronze nozzles. The clock with a loss to the top of porcelain on the urn form finial at the reverse. The gilt bronze feet on the mantel clock are likely replaced. With pendulum. No winding key. We cannot guarantee the completeness or functionality of the clock's movement.
