Two Louis XV Carved Mixed Wood and Caned Chairs, Second Quarter 18th Century. Comprising a fauteuil stamped to the back of stile 'I*B.LEAOUCE', and a similar side chair. Each having custom cushions. (2)
Dimensions: Height of armchair 36in; width 23 1/2in; depth of seat 18 1/2in; seat height 16 1/2in; Height of side chair 38 1/2in; width 20in; depth 16in; seat height 18in.
Condition
Each chair is structurally sound. Each have heavy wear, restoration and scattered repairs and reinforcements overall. The side chair has damage to the caned seat. The fauteuil has a small puncture to the caned back rest. The cushions with general wear. Evidence of old wood worm throughout.
