A Louis XV Provincial Carved Walnut Commode, Mid 18th Century. The rectangular top with serpentine front over a conforming case with two drawers, the shaped apron centered by a pierced scallop shell, raised on cabriole legs, terminating in hoof feet.
Dimensions: Height 35 1/4in; width 36in; depth 21 3/4in.
Condition
Structurally sound. Shrinkage, age cracks, scuffs, surface scratches and small losses throughout. Stains and minor discoloration to the top. The pierced scallop shell on the apron with an old break and repair. Evidence of old wood worm throughout. With key.
