A Louis XVI Style Parcel Gilt and Paint Decorated Oversized Armchair by Highland House, Hickory, North Carolina. With tufted green velvet upholstered back, seat and armrests. Designed by Paul Burrell ex-butler to the late Princess Diana. The splat with gilded X's and O's is a nod to Princess Diana's fondness of his son, "She used to say he’s my little man and he needs lots of hugs and kisses, so I made a chair for him with a row of hugs and a row of kisses" - Paul Burrell. With manufacturer's label to the underside and signed in marker to the seat rail 'Paul Burrell'.
Dimensions: Height 41in; width 26 1/2in; depth of seat 23in; seat height 19in.
Provenance: Property from a Bucks County, Pennsylvania Estate.
Condition
Structurally sound. In overall good condition. Having an intentionally distressed appearance to the gilding and paint decoration. General marks, wear, nicks, and surface scratches. Otherwise good condition overall.
