A New England Black-Painted Maple Queen Anne Chest of Drawers, 18th Century

The rectangular top with applied molding above two short drawers, over three graduated long drawers, molded base, raised on bracket feet. Pine secondary wood.

Dimensions: Height 36 1/4in; width 38in; depth 20in.

Condition

Structurally sound. Retaining an old black painted surface. The brass hardware is replaced and in secondary holes. Ghost marks of early hardware to reverse of drawer fronts. No lock plates or keys present. Age cracks, shrinkage, nicks, marks, wear and dust accumulation overall. Repairs and replacements to glue blocks underneath case.
