A New England Chippendale carved walnut and cherry highboy, third quarter 18th century, the upper and lower sections are together by association, the upper section having five graduated long drawers over a lower section with one long over three drawers, the center drawer having a well developed carved fan above an apron with center carved scallop shell, raised on cabriole legs ending in ball-and-claw feet

From a Bucks County collection. The upper and lower sections are together by association. Structurally sound. In an overall all refinished condition throughout. The upper section with several spliced repairs to corners and molding of drawer fronts several brass pulls and escutcheons are later replacements. All hardware is in original holes in drawer fronts, no additional vacant holes from other hardware present. The lower section with small horizontal age cracks to either side. The molding fastening to the lower section appears to be later replaced to snuggly fit the upper section. Some brass hardware appears to be later replaced and hiding vacant holes to drawer fronts.
