"A Sun Flecked Street." An oil on canvas street scene painting, signed "P. Van Roekens" bottom left, also signed, titled, located ME and dated 1921 verso. Note: Following her studies at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, Paulette Van Roekens lived in Newport, Rhode Island from 1920-1923 before returning to Philadelphia to teach at the Moore College of Art for Women. The present painting was painted during an apparently undocumented trip to Maine in 1921.15.25" H x 20" W canvas, 21.5" H x 25.5" W framed.
Good condition. Soiling, mild craquelure, scattered small paint losses.
