A Pennsylvania cherry two-part corner cupboard, circa 1800, the upper section with molded stepped cornice above a fifteen-light glazed door enclosing an interior fitted with four shelves, the lower section having a pair of sunken paneled cupboard doors, ending in bracket feet. This corner cupboard resided in the rectory at Christ Church, Philadelphia (336 Spruce Street) for nearly 25 years until 2021. A detailed family history of the corner cupboard is available upon request.Height 97 1/2in; width 51 1/2in; depth 24 1/2in; corner 32 3/4in.Descended through the Laubach / Hasbrouck family to current owner, Northampton County, Pennsylvania.
Structurally sound. Professionally restored in 1979 by Daniel M. Wire (Berks County). The backboards have been off and reattached with later nails. Two thin strips of wood have been added to upper section on back where backboards had significant shrinkage. Later pressed glass knobs. The interior with traces of an old white paint. Several of the glass panes appear to be later replaced. With key.
