A Pennsylvania Queen Anne Walnut High Chest of Drawers, 18th Century. Having a diminutive case width, in two parts; the upper section with molded cornice above two short drawers over four graduated long drawers, the lower section with scalloped skirt, fitted with a single deep drawer, raised on cabriole legs, terminating in stockinged trifid feet.
Dimensions: Height 70 1/2in; width of upper case 34in; width overall 36 1/2in; depth 20 1/2in.
Provenance: Property from a Philadelphia Collection.
Condition
The upper and lower section possibly together by association. Retaining an older refinish. The cornice and waist molding are replaced. Shrinkage and age cracks throughout. The upper two short drawers fitted with Quaker spring locks to the drawer bottoms, but have been broken off. There is a patch to the lower section of the case, where the lock has torn out. No keys.
