A Pennsylvania Walnut Blanket Chest, Chester County, 18th Century. The strap hinged rectangular top having bread board ends, enclosing a a dovetail-constructed box with a right covered till over two short drawers, raised on dovetailed bracket feet.
Dimensions: Height 29 3/4in; width 49 3/4in; depth 23in.
Provenance: Purchased with Raymond James Antiques, Lahaska, Pennsylvania, 2000.
Property from a Bucks County, Pennsylvania Collection.
Condition
Structurally sound. Brasses are later replacements, in original holes to drawer fronts. Typical age cracks and shrinkage throughout. General marks, wear, liquid stains to the tops, scuffs, surface scratches and small losses. No keys.
