Thayer Starr was born into a prominent Boston family, the daughter of Ezra Ripley Thayer, dean of Harvard Law School. She studied under Philp L. Hale at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and was awarded the Julius Hallgarten Prize at the National Academy of Design in 1929. She exhibited at Wildenstein gallery in New York, as well as the Copley Society and Child's Gallery of Boston.

Condition

Canvas unlined. In overall good condition. Small area of inpainting to bottom center under blacklight. The frame with some chips and losses to gesso.
