A New Jersey Four-Gallon Salt Glazed Stoneware Jar, Van Schoik & Dunn, Middletown Point, Mid 19th Century. Of cylindrical form, tapered and tooled shoulder, applied lug hands to either side, Albany slip interior and decorated with a hand-brushed cobalt blue stylized floral motif and numbered '4'.
Dimensions: Height 14 3/4in; diameter 10 1/2in.
Condition
Not examined under UV light. General marks, wear, discolorations and manufacturing imperfections. There is a horizontal hairline to the rear of jar just above the foot measuring approximately 8.5". Drips of house paint to the surface, otherwise good condition. Displays well.
