A Renaissance Revival figural carved mahogany 'Morris' armchair, attributed to R. J. Horner, New York, late 19th century, the shaped armrests with winged griffins supports, the back with mechanical reclining adjustment, raised on substantial paw feet to the front and foliate scroll feet to the rear, having a leather upholstered seat and back cushion.Height 38 1/2in; width 28 3/4in; depth of seat 18 1/2in; depth overall 33in; seat height 16in.
Structurally sound. General marks, wear, nicks, scuffs and surface scratches especially to carved paw feet. The leather cushions with general marks, wear and creases.
