A US Double Eagle Gold Coin Pocket Watch

Early 20th century, the case being constructed partially out of a modified 1895 US 'double eagle' 20$ .900 fine gold coin, housing a miniature pocket watch by Golay and Stahl, Geneve, the case with a flush mounted button matching the finish of the coin edge, with French hallmarks for 18k as pictured.

Dimensions: the total gross weight of the watch is 20.0 dwt, the coin/case is 34mm in diameter and is 4.1 mm thick. 

Provenance: From the Sydney F Martin estate. 

Condition

Good with minor expected surface wear as pictured, the watch currently runs. (We do not guarantee functionality or time keeping)
