Highlights include a newly discovered work by Leonard Tsuguharu Foujita, an impressive Imperial quality Chinese floor screen, Chinese cloisonne, pottery and porcelain from the 12th to 20th centuries, bronzes from India and Southeast Asia, art including works by Pierre-Charles Comte, H. An Italian Carved and Inlaid Walnut Collector's Cabinet, 18th Century

 

Profusely carved with classical and heraldic motifs.  The interior fitted with 3 central drawers flanked by barley-twist columns and twenty-six drawers, some behind carved doors.  Lacking outer doors.

 

Dimensions: 36 3/4 in. wide, 12 1/2 in. deep, 18 3/4 in. high

 

Provenance: The Estate of Dr. Neuman S. Mittel of Boston and Cape Cod, Massachusetts.

Condition

Lacking key.  Lacking outer doors, as stated in catalogue.  Lacking one interior doorfront, with two detached and in need of repair.  The top with extensive fading, wear, marks and scratches.  The sides with a few scattered losses to veneer, with some bubbling and lifting, especially at base.  The underside with holes and evidence of prior feet.  The central drawer lacking molding.  Other chips and losses to drawer pulls.  Some drawers with new nails and evidence of restoration.
