An English Brunswick Pattern 1837 Muzzle Load Full Stock Percussion Infantry Rifle, with Nepalese Pattern Bayonet. Pre 1847 style lock. Markings on bayonet lug suggest issue to Indian Army regiments. Likely assembled in Nepal under British East India Company.
Dimensions: Length 52 1/2in; length including bayonet 76 3/4in.
Condition
Overall original / serviceable condition. No apparent restorations. Very good 'attic brown' surface with very minor pitting. Sold wood. The metalwork with heavy marks, wear, toning and minor oxidation overall. The bayonet with extensive toning, wear and loss of surface. Wear commensurate with age and use. Bayonet lacking scabbard.
