A Matched Pair of Chinese Mother-of-Pearl Inlaid Carved Rosewood and Marble Armchairs, Late 19th / Early 20th Century

The yoked crest above a pierced splat, flanked by straight stiles and straight arms over a rectangular marble inset seat, above a pierced apron to the front, raised on straight legs joined by a box stretcher.

Together with two similar Chinese carved rosewood armchairs. (4)

Dimensions: Height of matched pair 38 1/2in; width 25in; depth of seat 17in; seat height 20 1/4in.

Condition

The matched pair with heavy wear and condition issues. Each chair with marble seats has cracks and breaks. One chair with loose pieces to marble. Age cracks and shrinkage throughout. One chair with seat not completely secured to base. Dings, nicks, scuffs, abrasions and surface scratches. Dust accumulation throughout.
