A One Gallon Pennsylvania Cobalt Blue Striped and Stencil Decorated Salt Glazed Stoneware Jar, Hamilton & Jones, Greensboro, Circa 1875. The cylindrical jar with semi-rounded rim above a tapered and deeply tooled shoulder, the stencil decoration inscribed, "HAMILTON & JONES, / GREENSBORO, / GREENE CO. / PA."
Dimensions: Height 9 1/2in; diameter 6in.
Provenance: Property from a Buck County, Pennsylvania Private Collection.
Condition
Strong cobalt blue. Typical wear and discoloration from the kiln overall. Flaking and roughness to the left side of the jar. Imperfections from manufacture throughout.
