A Southern Federal Inlaid Mahogany Sideboard, Early 19th Century

The rectangular overhanging top with veneered edge above a long drawer, over a central recessed cupboard, flanked by a short drawer over a deep drawer to either side, raised on square tapered legs. Hard yellow pine secondary wood.

Dimensions: Height 39 3/4in; width 27 1/4in; depth 23in.

Condition

Structurally sound. In overall restored condition. Shrinkage and age cracks. Minor scattered small loses throughout to veneers and inlay. Small patches from torn out locks. Repairs and rebuilding to some drawer bottoms and runners from typical wear overtime. The brass hardware is replaced and hiding centrally drilled holes to all drawer fronts from earlier knobs.
