A Federal Giltwood and Eglomise Looking Glass, c. 1820-1830
Possibly by the Portland Looking Glass Manufactory. The eglomise panel depicting a cottage within a foliate border.
Dimensions: 13 in. wide, 20 in. high
Condition
The backboard inscribed twice in pencil "Elizabeth Hartwell/ Strafford/ N.H." Some areas of gilding refreshed, with some areas of crazing and loss. The eglomise panel in good condition with minor losses to paint, particularly around border.
